Cleveland, OH (October 20, 2020) – Sports management company Topnotch Management announced today the signing of Australian tennis player Chris O’Connell, to a global representation agreement. The 26 year-old, reached a career high of 111 in the ATP rankings in 2020, and is looking to continue his momentum into the 2021 season. The Sydney resident will be managed by agent Alex Guthrie.
“We got to know Chris when he came through town for the Cleveland Open event”, said Guthrie. “He brings a lot of professionalism to the table and he’s demonstrated that he has the talent to win matches at the top level. For us, Chris represents our first Australian client and we’re excited to work with him in a new market as we help Chris continue his success.”
O’Connell entered the 2019 season ranked outside the Top 1000 after dealing with injury setbacks, but promptly brought his ranking up near the Top 100 by the end of the year. Though his momentum was slowed by an interrupted 2020 season, everyone is looking forward to seeing Chris’s ranking reflect the talent he’s shown over the past years as a player that belongs in the main draw of every Grand Slam and as a regular in ATP Tour events.
“Topnotch is a world-class group and I’m excited to join their team”, explained O’Connell. “I know their support will help me continue to develop as a professional and make sure my career is maximized on court and off.
O’Connell is expected to start his 2021 campaign with Tour-level events ahead of the Australian Open.
