Cleveland, OH (August 19th, 2019) — Sports management company Topnotch Management announced today the signing of Zachary Svajda, the youngest player in the Main Draw of the US Open since 2005. The 16-year-old San Diego native will be co-managed by Sam Duvall and James Beres
“For Zach to come in to Kalamazoo and play the way he did with a spot in the US Open on the line shows a lot about the talent he's able to bring to the court.” said Beres. “I know the poise and temperament he illustrated in Kalamazoo will serve Zach well as he transitions to the pros.”
Through his matches in the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) Futures circuit, Svajda became one of the youngest Americans to earn a point on the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour before his 16th birthday. As a rising Junior player, Svajda has focused his attention on developing for the game at the pro level, he has hit and trained with several pros, including Roger Federer this year at Indian Wells, John Isner, and other pros who are based at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, where Svajda often trains. Svajda will continue to work with longtime coach Matt Hanlin, as well as his father, Thomas Svajda.
Speaking ahead of the US Open, Zach Svajda said, “I’m excited to join Topnotch Management as I begin my professional tennis career. Their experience has already proven extremely valuable to me and they have a great team to keep me moving forward.”
Svajda will play his First Round Main Draw match at the US Open on either Monday or Tuesday, August 26th or 27th, and continue his pro career on the ITF Transition Tour and ATP Challenger circuit through 2019 and into 2020.
